Disciplinary Rules
The students shall strictly observe and comply with the disciplinary rules and regulations framed by Vidyasagar College of Education from time to time. Any violation of these rules shall be dealt with by the Principal or the competent authority, whose decision shall be final and binding.
Objectives
- Students shall maintain the highest standards of discipline, dignity, and decorum both inside and outside the College campus.
- Every student is expected to attend classes regularly and maintain the minimum attendance prescribed by the affiliating University, NCTE, and the College.
- Students must be punctual and enter their classrooms before the commencement of classes. Late entry may be permitted only with the approval of the concerned teacher or the Principal.
- No student shall enter or leave the classroom during a lecture without the prior permission of the concerned teacher.
- Students having no scheduled classes are expected to utilize their free time in the Library, Reading Room, or other designated study areas. Loitering in corridors or disturbing the academic environment is strictly prohibited.
- Students shall wear their College Identity Card at all times while on the campus and produce it whenever required by the College authorities.
- Mobile phones must remain in silent mode during classes, seminars, workshops, library hours, and examinations. Their misuse is strictly prohibited.
- Students shall maintain discipline, cleanliness, and proper decorum in classrooms, laboratories, library, hostels (if applicable), and all other areas of the campus.
- Damaging or defacing College property, furniture, laboratory equipment, library resources, or any institutional infrastructure shall invite strict disciplinary action, including recovery of the cost of damages.
- Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Any student found involved in ragging shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Ragging Regulations of the UGC, NCTE, and Government authorities.
- Students shall not engage in any form of discrimination, harassment, bullying, violence, or behaviour that disturbs the peaceful academic atmosphere of the College.
- Uploading, downloading, accessing, or sharing objectionable, illegal, defamatory, obscene, or copyrighted material using the College internet or digital resources is strictly prohibited.
- Students shall use the College's internet, computers, laboratories, and other facilities only for academic and educational purposes.
- Participation in College programmes, teaching practice, internships, field visits, community outreach, seminars, workshops, and other academic activities shall be governed by the rules of the institution.
- Faculty mentors shall monitor the attendance, academic progress, discipline, conduct, and overall well-being of the students and provide necessary guidance whenever required.
